Victory over Germany - 60 years later
Responses of some readers (from the Internet):

1. Americans would burst out laughing if someone were to tell them, that 'the USSR had rescued mankind from Fascism' (the Soviet stamp).

2. After the depose of the German occupation:
- the Baltic countries were under the control of the Soviet Union;
- the countries included in the Warsaw pact, have also been included in the sphere of Soviet influence and were not independent.

3. In case of defeat of the USSR in war:
- the Soviet Union reorganization (perestroika) would have begun 50 years before 1991 and there would have been an abundance of goodness and sausage, as there was in Germany;
- the Communist elite would have been killed;
- the remounting Jews would have been killed in the Holocaust.

4. We, Jews from the former Soviet Union, should be grateful to the Soviet Army that rescued us from utter annihilation.

Religious Jews consider, that G-d defines the course of history.
