National
Living Treasure
Japan has a special title, "National Living Treasure," which
is given to a few select individuals during their lifetime.
I think that Gorbachev might receive the "National Living Treasure"
because:
1. He began the transition from Communist dictatorship
to democracy.
2. After a long interval he began to allow Jews to emigrate
from the Soviet Union.
3. He removed the Soviet army from Afghanistan.
4. He destroyed the Berlin Wall.
5. He united Germany.
6. He destroyed the Socialist Camp.
7. He started to break apart the Soviet Union and now
to break apart Russia.
We have to be in a hurry to give Gorbachev the title "National Living
Treasure' before some former Communists kill him.
