What is known is that he helped us to rise against the oppression we faced and to become the independent autonomous republic we know today.
Darth Bob has many positions in Government, most of them ceremonial. He has some power of his own, but most is merely advisory.
However, if the Shotgun Council become incapable of managing their own affairs, then the Darth may step in to sort the situation out. We say this happen during the infamous 'Grappagate' Scandal.
The only power Darth Bob holds day to day is the ability to appoint Council members to different positions, although he may not change the make up of the Council itself.
