Step 1: how to hypnotise you or a friend [use this same tecnique to hypnotise somewon else.] This is the HARDEST PART OF THE ENTIRE INDUCTION. I want you to find somewhere that you feel safe and comfortable and sit there. A Lazy-Boy chair is pretty ideal. Make sure you are not flexing any muscles. Sounds dumb, but you probably are flexing something without being aware of it. Next (my hardest part of the process), make yourself completely comfortable. You are not able to move any part of your body, so make sure there are no little scratchy things, nothing pressing against you, and nothing causing ANY discomfort. Small annoying feelings will dwell on your mind, and not let you concentrate. Take all the time you need, for this is the most important step. This whole beginning process originally used to take me about 15 minutes; now it's about 15-20 seconds. Don't rush yourself. You'll get good at this FAST. Once your are comfortable, continue to Step 2.
Step 2: Close your eyes. (READ ENTIRE DOCUMENT FIRST, MORON!!!) Some people have very rapid-eye movement. Try closing your eyes and not allowing your eyes to move. Think they're not moving? Lightly touch your closed eyes. That is called "Rapid Eye Movement". We can't make that completely stop (your eyes do this when you sleep), but we CAN slow it down. This is a great technique to use to make your eyes tired (do this to sleep too). Look up and cross your eyes. Force a LOT of strain on your eyes (you won't hurt them, I promise). You will probably blink really fast. This is good, but push harder. Do this for 5 seconds and then stop for 5 seconds. Repeat this without moving any other part of your body about 10 times (gets less once you know how to tire them faster). This will make your eyes very tired, and closing them and keeping them closed will be much easier. Once you are completely comfortable and your eyes are tired and closed, continue to Step 3.
Step 3: Now you are able to start the invocation. The key is repetition and assurance (even for yourself). Key phrases are "You are becoming unaware of your environment", "You are relaxed and very comfortable", & "Your body is becoming very weak and loose". VISUALIZE your body doing this. This forces you to have a picture to concentrate on, and the more you concentrate, the easier this process is. The suggestions will give you lots to look at, and you will have no desire to envision anything else. DO NOT use the phrases: "You are getting sleepy" or "You are becoming very tired". These make your body want to sleep and not continue the induction. IMPORTANT: You will not believe you are hypnotized! Nothing magical happens in this state. It's just like being REALLY into a movie when the movie is all you can think about. You will think that you are relaxing in your favorite chair with your eyes closed. You are able to think normally, but in fact, you ARE in a hypnotic state. You will say to yourself, "I'm not hypnotized; I simply do not want to open my eyes or get up". This state is exactly what we want. Don't e-mail me saying you did not hypnotize yourself. No one can sit with their eyes closed without moving for 10 minutes and be in a normal awake state when following these instructions properly. If you definitely think you are not, you are unable to concentrate. This is a sign of a fool. You are a fool. However, this is possible when you are stressing about something going on in your life, but when saying these things to yourself, not becoming hypnotized is very hard. To prepare for the induction, I suggest trying this: "With every breath you breathe out, your body becomes more relaxed and comfortable. Breathe in... Breathe out... Your body relaxation doubles. You lose feeling in most of your body. Breathe out... Again, your body relaxation doubles. You are very comfortable and have no desire to move. Noticing the outside world is unpleasant and undersirable. Breathe out... Your body relaxation doubles again. You are very tired and comfortable." This is a very basic 4 Stage version (Stage 1: Fluid, Stage 2: Escalator, Stage 3: Trance, Stage 4: Release). If this seems too hard to remember, maybe make a recording of yourself speaking this. I prefer to be able to start again if I am having problems concentrating. This is written as if you are talking to yourself in your head. If you are using this on someone else, make sure to change the phrasing and be sure to speak in a warm calm voice. Think this to yourself: "You are very comfortable and relaxed. Your environment is safe, and you are able to concentrate very well. You have no desire to move or open your eyes; all you can do is concentrate on your own voice." "Imagine you are looking at your body in the position you are in floating in the air with a black background. All you can see is yourself and nothing else will enter your mind. Vision your body is filled completely with a bright blue liquid. This liquid is able to drain from your body, but only from one part of your body at a time. When the liquid leaves you, you become tingly and relaxed in that area of your body. When the liquid leaves you, that part of your body begins to feel 'floating' and comfortable. "We will begin with your right foot. Drain the liquid from your right foot. Push out every last drop from you body. Watch it become empty and more relaxed. Now it feels tingly and floating. Next we will drain your left foot. Force out all of the liquid as you did with the other foot." Do this for the following parts of your body in this order: feet, shins/calves, upper leg, waist, behind, stomach, hands, forearms, upper arms, chest, shoulders, neck, then finally, your head. TAKE YOUR TIME! Repeat words: tired, relaxed, comfortable, safe, drained, tingly, & floating. These are key words to reach optimum relaxation. IF YOU MOVE A PART OF YOUR BODY THAT HAS BEEN DRAINED, YOU MUST RETURN TO THAT PART! Continuing: "Now your body is completely drained and very relaxed and comfortable. You have no desire to move. You are very unaware of your environment. You feel safe and content. Now we take you from this relaxed state to your trance state. Imagine you are in a mall with 4 floors. You are standing at the top on the 4th floor and you are about to take the escalator down to the first floor. Each time you go down a level, you become more tired, and relaxed. Once you reach the first floor, you will be in a trance state. "You approach the escalator and start heading down to the 3rd floor. As you feel yourself going down, you become less aware of your physical surroundings and environment. You are becoming more relaxed, and more comfortable. You will concentrate on envisioning the escalator and the mall and the people shopping." Continue this until you are on the second floor about to go down to the first floor of complete trance state. Also at this floor, stop telling yourself to forget your physical self. It's kinda like "Don't look up" because you will. Mix up the phrasing between floors using the same important words. Force a sinking feeling upon your body. "Now you head towards the first floor. You are feeling totally relaxed and have no desire to move. You are very pleasant and very comfortable. Once you reach the first floor, you will get off the escalator and at this point, you will be in a complete trance state. You are very happy and comfortable in this state. You are safe, and nothing can harm you." At this point, you should envision you own face talking to you. You cannot respond, but only listen and accept what you hear. You will remember everything that you say to yourself and you will take all advise as powerful suggestions that you take into your daily life. Again, see "Developing Powerful Suggestions" for suggestion ideas during your trance state. If you are hypnotizing someone else, try the solid arm trick. When they are sitting take their arm (talk them through this of course) and straighten it directly out from their body. Suggest that their arm (while holding it up and out) is a solid strong bar. This bar can hold any weight and cannot bend. Continue talking about how strong this arm is and slowly let go of their arm. Slowly apply pressure to the top of their arm. You will find that they will be quite strong, and will not be interested in bending their arm. Once you've had fun with this, simply hold their arm, and suggest that their arm is beginning to relax and soften. It is becoming limp and tired like a wet noodle. Place their arm in a comfortable position. If you have hypnotized yourself a couple of times by now, this is the time to suggest the word that will help you get back into this state faster. DO NOT TRY THIS SUGGESTION UNTIL YOU BELIEVE YOU'RE COMFORTABLE WITH THIS WHOLE PROCESS (probably by the fourth time you will be ready). This word will probably wear of with a few days. Once you are as comfortable as I am with this, it will be able to last for up to a few weeks. Finally use the suggestion way above to release yourself from this state of trance. Before the release invoke thoughts of "You will wake up happy and content. You are a wonderful person, and people happy around you. You are a positive person that deserves great things form life." You will wake up slowly more relaxed than in a long time.
