Vending Machines

and it�s true
we do need vending machines that dispense guys
you could go
and for less than a dollar (but of course, the price would HAVE to go up every year)
you could get whatever you want
unless of course you don�t want the standard stuff
that gets a bit harder

the thing is
there�s far more of a parallel between guys and vending machines than anyone�d like to admit
sometimes what you get is very VERY sweet
sometimes you try something unfamiliar and it�s nasty
but usually you know what you�re looking for, you go for something that has that characteristic, then it either hits the spot or doesn�t
<shrugs>
not that I have a whole lot of experience
but hey
(oh, btw � that �hits the spot� part is a reference to a phrase my grandpa uses to describe food. do not, and I repeat, DO NOT ascribe any truly dirty meanings to it
actually, the dirty meaning is kinda appropriate�.)

the reason that I�m creating this site is that I�m a vending machine junkie
yes
I am
It�s horrible, I know
But it�s true
I go to the vending machines every day after school
Sometimes before school
And even
Occasionally
During my open hours
Candy, cheetos, chips
You name it
I�ve bought it
I�m not really sure why, either
I like eating good food
Not dry, overly packed with preservatives, mass produced stuff
Maybe it�s the appeal of the machines themselves
They�re so convenient
Just empty the change left in your pocket into a little slit
Poke a couple of buttons
A little thingy spins
Candy falls
And you�ve got nourishment
Or at least something that will pass for it
I don�t rush to buy food from ppl
I�d never think of eating a snack so regularly after school if there weren�t any machines
Wouldn�t bring my own
Wouldn�t run over to a gas station
I�d just forget abt it
So I think they should be banned
They make us unhealthy
Sell us stuff we not only don�t need, but also don�t really want
They�re inherently ugly
They take up space
I mean
Really
What purpose do they serve?
Maybe, because they make such good targets for vandalism
They might save the school money
After all
It�s the owners of the machine that have to service them
I guess that would be a reason to keep them
Anyhow
That�s my rant
I hope it was at least vaguely amusing
