i'm not really sure if she belongs on this list
but i can't say that she doesn't either
i mean
she's sort of disappeared
and i can't blame that on her
she's got too many excuses
but at the same time
excuses sort of undermine the basis of friendship
anyhow
for old time's sake:
1. casey understands
i've got plenty of examples
cept that her file in my database is even more daunting than claudia's
so i'll go w/ a more recent one
if you look at my guestbook (sign it while you're there :-D)
casey's entry is the only one where the responses to the first two fields unquestionably reflect what i intended to ask
at some level you could claim that her ability to understand me
(and hopefully i her, but i can't say that for sure)
is based on somewhat similar circumstances
not completely
since hers suck much more
but still
i don't think that's true anyhow
at the point that two separate interpretations of the same text
(in my guestbook)
are exactly the same
even though they don't require you to pull anything from your past
then there's something more than just common experiences
2. she will not stagnate
claudia once pointed out to me that, if school didn't exist, most ppl would just stop thinking
they'd go through their daily lives
do the same stupid things they're doing now
and stop learning altogether
casey wouldn't
she actually bothers to think on her own
like when she stays home sick
she doesn't just sleep and watch cartoons
she watches the news
odd, isn't it?
anyhow
how can you not like a person who's aware of her own intellegence
and acts on it?
3. she claims to be a silly romantic
i'm not sure if she is
since she isn't around enough for me to evaluate how serious she is
i'll just have to go based on the claim
anyhow
the reason why even saying it is great
is that it's a check on me
i mean
i generally consider myself a pragmatist
granted
i believe things a pragmatist would
but i'd never act on them
b/c i couldn't
but casey's always got a reason why i'm wrong
and is always willing to challenge me
disagreement starts many very interesting conversations
and that whole same interp thing
that part makes it so we always know what it is we're discussing
and saying
so the ground of the argument makes sense
it's great
or was
4. she's got opinions
ppl w/o them suck
there's no point in talking to them
b/c they'll just agree w/ you
and you don't have conversations
you just talk
not them
the freaks
5. there were more reasons
but i'm not sure if they're true anymore
so let's just leave it at that
she's wonderful
until she finds ppl she'd rather hang out w/
and talk to
and justifies it to herself by saying that friendship doesn't die when you don't want to talk to ppl anymore
maybe it doesn't
but it certainly isn't the same
