The Magic Minerals garden fertiliser and organic nutrients with humate story
The story behind Magic Minerals
Magic Minerals(R) was formed by the synergy between ceramic science and soil science, back in 1985.

No other product on the Australian market can offer the benefits that Magic Minerals can.

Magic Minerals are a medium density, unique natural mineral carrying a net negative electro-chemical charge. The negative charge is responsible for attracting, holding and exchanging cations * ( positive charges ) ( nutrient elements), through a process called cation exchange*. This process can be measured and is called the cation exchange capacity or CEC . Magic Minerals have very high CEC.

Magic Minerals have very open fameworks, which in effect, make Magic Minerals like an enormous sponge, sucking up nutrients by electro-chemical reaction, capillary action is also responsible for some uptake of nutrients.

Unlike other types of fertiliser which are leached away very quickly by continued watering, the Magic Minerals component of the fertiliser will last forever ! It will go on supplying nutrients by cation exchange.

When Magic Minerals are used in your garden or potting mix, they will set up a distribution network of negative charges* throughout the soil or potting mix, so positively charged cations can be held by the negative charges of Magic Minerals. When other cations from surrounding soil or fertiliser are attracted to the negative sites of Magic Minerals, cations are released from the negative sites of Magic Minerals to be taken up by the plants' root system.

As plant root systems release hydrogen ions, these are exchanged on the negative sites of Magic Minerals for other cations, which will be available to the roots of the plant for immediate uptake.

The importance of negative sites ( Magic Minerals ) is clear cut, for without them, cations would have little residence time in the soil or potting mix. Thus they would very quickly be leached out of both soil and potting mix, to eventually end up in our river systems.

* = Cations are positive charged ions. Nutrients such as Ammonium , Potassium , Magnesium,
Calcium, Iron , Manganese, Zinc and Copper are all cations.

* = Anions are negatively charged ions, such as Magic Minerals and the nutrients Nitrate,
Sulfate, Phosphate.

* = Cation Exchange Capacity is expressed in me/100g and is the direct measure of the amount of nutrients it can hold.

* = Magic Minerals adds negative sites to your soil or potting mix.
(R) = Magic Minerals is a registered Trade Mark.
Magic Minerals garden fertiliser and organic nutrients with humate is a balanced plant food for your trees, garden plants and vegetables. Magic Minerals garden fertiliser and organic nutrients with humate have quick acting fertiliser with slow release organic nutrients.
