Many people take what I write to be religious. I want to empathize that I am not a religious person. I don't want to anger anyone needlessly but I believe that religion has been the most harmful concept that humanity ever developed.
What I propose is that we are spiritual beings. I do not believe there is some sort of "God" or other supreme being apart from us. We are, collectively, God. We are part of the energy source that maintains the universe. There is no difference between us and a star way out at the other side of the universe. The energy is all there is and we are just parts of that energy that have individual manifestations.
I do not believe that we just happened by random chance. We are not accidents of nature. There was a design to our being and we participated in that design. We are as eternal as any form of energy. Energy cannot be destroyed, it can only be used. We are part of an energy source that has conscientiousness and intelligence. To deny that is to deny ourselves.
Many religions say we are created by a supreme being. If that is so then what did that supreme being create us from? What could possibly exist that was not at one time part of that being? Did it create us from dust of the Earth? Where did that dust come from? Where did that Earth come from? Follow the chain all the way back and you will come to the conclusion that everything came originally from the energy that has always existed.
So ultimately everything, including our own bodies, came from that ultimate energy. Therefore we are part of that energy. As such we are just as much a part of the creative force as the creator.
So, no, this is not religious. I just speak about the mechanics of our existence. I do not propose a reason for why we are here, although I have ideas on that subject. I don't know that I can fully understand the reason for our existence other than the Grand Game.
Be assured that I am not trying to force an opinion or push some religion on you. I want to tell you about what I have learned and open lines of communication on the possibilities of our existence with the idea that human growth and progression comes from openly examining ourselves with open minds. Open up and connect with your fellow humans and all those others of the same "spirit" (or energy).
