Let's Think About It
You know, just sitting and thinking about things is not a bad thing to do. Let's take an example. Thinking about why people deal with each other the way they do.Why can't we get along and show love and compassion to each other as the norm? It seems anymore that no one trusts anyone anymore. We live in a mode where we are always protecting ourselves and what we own. Why do we have to be that way?
If society had real love for each other and understood each other then don't you think we would be happier? So if that would make us all happier and we believe that why don't we practice it?
We have started out on the wrong foot as a race. We began going wrong when we began to see each other as "other" and ourselves as "me". Once we made the distinction that we are different than the "others" we began to develop a protective instinct towards ourselves.
Instead of trying to work together openly we began to reserve some of our energy for just "us". We did not give freely and that set up a psychological barrier between us and "them". We forgot that we ARE "them" and visa-versa.
So what could happen if we could restore the knowledge that we are all part of the same energy to most of humanity? It is an interesting speculation but I think that we would begin to see others differently than we now do. I know that as I look around at people I am pulled towards seeing them as different. Some I have feelings of envy for and others I am disgusted by. There are of course many other feelings in between, but you get the idea.
As I watch someone that I have had a particularly strong reaction to I begin to look for ways that that person is the same as me. I try to see the spirit of the person. Sometimes I can be filled with compassion and other times I feel no connection. The point is that we should try to "strengthen" that part of us that sees the sameness in other people. If the human race could think logically for only a few min we could get this concept down and get on with improving our race.
