What Witches Are...and Aren't
This section is for those people who don't know exactly what Witches do. This makes it a little bit easier for them to comprend that we don't worship the devil or any of that jazz. First I have a list of stuff that Witch DON'T DO! Then a list of things Witches actually do! :) Hope you like it. If you think there is something I should add...just email me...and if I like the idea...I will put it up.
Real Witches DON'T DO the follow things...
- hurt people in any way. Witches help people in anyway possible. You can't call yourself a Witch if you go around hurting people all the time.
- don't work black magick. We aren't into that. Witches go by the rule that whatever you do comes back to you by three...and if we work black magick our luck would be pretty bad.
- kill or hurt animals. Witches love animals...and we work with them during ritual. And many Witches have an animal familiar.
- call ourselves warlocks. Warlock means "truth twister" and that's not what we are.
- summon demons. Come on...do you really think we are that stupid?
- worship the Devil. So many people think Witches worship the Devil...but there might be a little problem...since we don't believe in Satan. Witches believe that if you name something you give it power.
- believe in Hell. Witches believe that we will pay for our actions...whether they be good or bad...in this life or in the next one.
- use Satanic symbols. The Witches pentacle represents the four elements and Spirit. There's nothing evil in that.
- become Witches overnight. It take a lot of hard work to become a Witch. A Witch "is" by means of study and belief.
- practise magick that they don't understand.
- charge money to pray or work magick for people. They can however, ask for a repayment of supplies they used up during the magickal working.
What Real Witches DO...
- believe in a higher being as a univeral force of positive energy. Witches believe in the higher being as the Lord and Lady...or God and Goddess.
- honor all positive religious paths. Witches do not believe that their religion is the best. We don't make fun of other religions...and we don't like it when people make fun of ours.
- believe in prayer. We know that focused prayer represents great power.
- believe in Karma. That for every action that is an equal reaction.
- believe in reincarnation. We believe that we live many lives in order to grow spiritually.
- belive that there is no one right way to worship Spirit. Each person has to come up with their own belief in Spirit in order to be comfortable with Spirit.
There are of course many other things that Witches do and don't do...but I think this is a pretty good list for people to understand. If you have any questions...please feel free to email me or ask in the guest book. :)
