Street Musicians

All up and down Shop Street and Quay Street these street musicians play. These musicians perform day and night, rain or shine...

They play anything from the guitar, accordion, fiddle, harmonica, and the BRRRRRRR WAWOOO YAOOOORRR instrument (we actually don’t know what this instrument is called, but it makes that cool sound). Our favorite is “The Three Man Band.” He plays the harmonica and guitar as well as tambourine with his foot. He is usually out at night, but has been known to be around during the day as well. We told him that he could be in the Guiness Book of World Records for playing the most instruments at once. He said he’d think about it. The Three Man Band is a little shy, which is surprising considering his plethora of musical talent. I think Weeze might want to marry him. Along with him, there is a bunch of different genres of music all up and down these streets, a mixture of traditional Irish  music and music of other artists: Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Pearl Jam, Billy Joel… Put some money in their hats or guitar cases if you like them and want to sing along, if not keep on walkin’. I saw this other guy playing the accordion and I tried to take his picture. He was rude and told me to pay. Buddy, you are not that good to make me pay to have your picture, plus, maybe be a little nicer about it and I might make a donation. One of the liveliest street musicians I have seen yet is this guy who sits on a window sill next to Art Bia, across from the Quays, and plays the violin. He taps his foot and jams out. I never knew the violin could be so much fun; he makes me want to dance. The most interesting, that’s easy. The other day I saw this guy who was playing an acoustic version of Roses by Outcast. I must say though, he made this vulgar rap song sound pretty. John Mayer, was that you?
