Busker Browne's is arguably the most popular pub in Galway at the moment, and has been tastefully restored in one of the oldest parts of the city. Its three bars (the historic Hall of the Tribes, perfect for functions; the cozy Slate House, home to jazz and traditional music sessions; and the vibrant Busker's Bistro, serving the very best in all day food, including local oysters and salmon, fine wines, great coffee & desserts) make Busker Browne's an absolute must when visiting Galway. Busker Browne's combines period flavor with modern comfort in its range of bars to suit every occasion, and the combined three levels and the expansive floor space make it also one of the largest pubs in Galway. The lively bar and upstairs music venue has retained its original medieval character, and this huge multi-level bar features lots of antechambers, unique cathedral ceilings and old stone walls. Busker Browne's is internationally renowned for its fresh food, oysters, seafood chowder and wild salmon, and crab & cheese selection. Busker Browne's serves food all day, and on Sunday mornings hosts live jazz music.
Angela Says: Busker Browne's is not only a fun bar, it serves great food in a posh atmosphere. Another plus, the entrees are fairly cheap! The chicken curry is delicious, and the tortellini with mushroom and saffron cream is sinfully good. Busker Browne's menu is fairly limited (they served about six main courses), but everything that they make they make well. The atmosphere is relaxed and the decor is art deco. The lounge-type chairs are comfy and Busker Browne's proves the perfect place to lounge around with good friends over a hot meal.
Atiba Says: Busker Browne's is a fun place! The lighting is perfect, not to dull or too bright, making it perfect for taking pictures. This is a contemporary restaurant and is a little posh. Thus, dressing in a nice button down shirt with a pair of loafers and your “going out denims” or khakis would not hurt. The food is tasty and not pricey at all. The waitress was pretty friendly and made sure that we got whatever we needed. The best salads in town might be at this place because you can get a hefty portion of a mixed salad for a mere 2 . 90 euro. Also, their Greek salad is a specialty that everyone should try as a side order or an appetizer. The tortellini dish is a favorite. There is a cocktail bar on the top floor supplying a wide range of mixed drinks that you and your friends can enjoy after having a hearty meal.
