Gillett has set up a very impressive site for English for Academic
Purposes. The vocabulary section tells you why vocab. is important
for academic study, shows the academic word list (2000 of the most
useful and frequent academic words), gives advice on how to select
words to learn, provides exercises, and provides very useful
information on word building. Well worth a lengthy visit. |

excellent site created by Monica Hill of The University of Hong
Kong. Start with the diagnostic test to give you an idea of your
level. Move on to Daily Dose where 10 words are presented
every day. At the end of the week you can take a revision test.
There are also useful sections on phrasal verbs, business and
economics, games, a bulletin board, a database of useful words and
links. Well worth a visit. |
