Cacatons

Physical Description:  Cacatons are generally similar to the Pianta of Ede Rame, suggesting some distant relation.  Cacatons stand eight to eight-and-a-half feet tall and are extremely strong.  Their bodies, a deep green, also house dozens of sharp, fibrous spines.  Cacatons, while not prone to destructive violence, are somewhat more aggressive than their Pianta cousins and generally live in the more rural and desert areas of Arrale.  Cacatons also have considerable ability to store water within and thus are able to travel long distances without needing fresh water. 

Cacaton Society:  Cacatons live in a variety of different social settings, including nomadic tribes, farming communities, or as urban dwellers in halfling cities across Ede Rame.  The Cacatons themselves lack a nation-state of their own but, like the Pianta, find that many nations are willing to make use of their considerable natural abilities.  The Saphirite Church has made considerable effort to convert the Cacatons to the worship of Saphir with uneven success across the region.  Nonetheless, Cacatons are often used by Arallian nations to augment their military forces in a variety of ways.
