Physical Description: The Azbekk are enormous praying mantissas. They are covered in a sturdy exo-skeleton that serves as a natural form of armor. They are capable of withstanding the rough terrain of the desert and store a great deal of water and travel for long periods without refreshment. The Azbekk are an intelligent race and are generally able to maintain their calm despite much provocation. The Azbekk are generally even-tempered and slow to anger, interested more in building than destroying. However, once enraged, the Azbekk do not back down and will fight to the last. Reproduction amongst the Azbekk is generally rather swift, but somewhat dangerous. Azbekk Queens give birth to as many as two hundred Azbekks in a single given time. This process, however, involves the creation of a massive egg sac that causes the Queen to become largely immobile during the pregnancy. This leads to a swift population growth rate amongst the Azbekk.
Azbekk Society: The Azbekk have great natural proclivity towards psionics, which in many ways defines how Azbekk society operates. The Azbekk have massive stone tower-cities that sit in the deserts of the Burning Lands. The Azbekk rarely venture into the desert, given that they face a terrible menace in the form of Sand Mantas, which dwell on and beneath the desert sands that are extremely fearsome and fond of consuming Azbekks. As such, the Azbekk MindLords have developed a vast fleet of WindShips that fly high above the desert sands and are psi-powered. These ships allow the Azbekk to develop a surprisingly large civilization in their harsh desert environment. The Azbekk thus have a communal society that developed out of the need to maintain their stone tower-cities and their large windship fleets. The political system, which governs the Azbekk, is very loose and a Satrap, which rules the city at the head of a council, governs each town. The various Satraps together form a confederation that has a leader elected from amongst the Satraps who wields limited powers save for times of war, which are extremely infrequent. Azbekk reproduction is accomplished by Azbekk Queens and their needs are considered paramount in Azbekk society.
