Clumsy, lazy, and somewhat boy-crazy, Usagi was pretty much just a typical teenage girl. Then, one day, a chance encounter with a cat named Luna changes all that. Usagi discovers she is Sailor Moon-one of the five Sailor Scouts who must fight evil. At first, she is excited to be able to fight crime just like her hero Sailor V, but she soon realizes the seriousness of her mission. She becomes infatuated with the mysterious Tuxedo Mask, who saves her from danger many times. Though she is warned that he is the enemy, she can't help but feel love for him, not realizing that he is actually her own sworn enemy, Mamoru Chiba. Things become somewhat awkward between them after she learns his true identity, and she falls into a state of depression. After he nearly dies saving her, she learns that she is the real Princess Serenity, and the one whose love for Endymion(who was the prince of the Earth) was responsible for the destruction of the Moon Kingdom. In order to prevent history from repeating itself, both the good and bad guys go to shocking lengths to keep the two apart. While this ultimately results in victory for the Scouts, Sailor Moon is forced to kill Endymion in the process. Her sorrow causes Princess Serenity to take over. Having once again lost her beloved, the princess decides to destroy the Earth, in hopes that they can be together in another life. The Scouts try and fight against her, but are no match for the power of her Millenium Silver Crystal. She turns the Earth into a vaste wasteland, devoid of all life, but is with Endymion. Once again in control as Usagi, the two decide to sacrifice their lives in order to restore the world and fix
the mess their love has caused, even if it means they
must be apart forever. Once again, the two lie dead
together. The princess confronts Usagi and tells her that
they will be permitted to go back because of their
selfless act, and the Scouts are reunited. In the Special
Act, Usagi and Mamoru argue over the planning of
their wedding, but are brought together when they must
once again save the world. It is hinted that Usagi is
pregnant, and they marry without a hitch in the end
