This is sort of a tough subject to talk about. (for most girls anyway) They have bad memories of when they were little... they weren't "in". Wow.. it really sux doesn't it?! It's what girls everywhere want to be.. that P word.. popular! It's what they really want. They want the guys to be all over them, look perfect, have the best top dollar clothes, and get good grades. Once that's accomplished, she can hang out with the popular girls. Then life should be perfect... then again.. maybe not...
It begins somewhere around 4th grade. The girls sort out who is popular and nonpopular. If you are "dirty" or wear out of style clothes or look "ugly and poor", you're put in the low group of the pile. If you have a great body and wear brand-name clothes, you're accepted into the group. And from then on, you stay in your "group". The "groups" then split off into little cliques. Some cliques interlace, but very rare. Like one girl may be in the low group, but her friend is in the popular group. She wants to join her friend but she knows she can't because she's "dirty" and her friends "friends" make fun of her. This eventually makes the two girls split off. Sadly, this is reality.
In my book, I don't care if Iam popular. I mean, seriously, if you saw how dumb you look trying to be popular by wearing cool clothes or swearing, you'd realize how much of a waste of time this is! It's like-move on with life already! It's not gonna work anyway, because you won't get accepted. You see? It's all crap! Surprisingly, most of the girls in the low group are usually nicer than the popular girls. The popular girls are snotty because they have all they want. The low girls know what it's like to be treated like dogs... Now don't get me wrong-I know girls in the popular gang can be nice sometimes, but the majority is-their snobs-at least on the inside.
And what's with this popularity mumbo jumbo? Basically, it's all about looks. You look sexy, you're cool. You look ugly, you're dumb. You have to be in a wheelchair, you're stupid. You have a best friend, you're called gay. You get sorted by how you look. It's not right. Ive decided to ignore all this. To me, who cares if Iam popular or not!!!! Get on with life. Instead of worrying about how you look and act, just act natural. I have been, and Iam enjoying my life soooo much and I"m making friends who care about each other. I don't like acting fake and wearing fake clothes to get 'attention'...
