MAGIC UNIVERSITY TERMS AND CONDITIONS

It is very important that you (and your parents, if you're under 18) review the following rules so that you know what you can and cannot do on Magic-University.com. By using this site, you and your parents agree to abide by the following terms and conditions:

Basic Summary:

1. This is a privately owned site, and we reserve the right to change, cancel, delete, add to and basically do whatever we want to on this site, from now until we discontinue this site, without any advanced warning or notification to the players.
   
   
2. REGISTRATION RULES:
   
   A. You must be over the age of 13 to register a character with this site.
   
   B. All Character names should be fictional. Please do not use your name that you use in real life. Please do NOT use any of the Harry Potter names. (i.e. Potter, Riddle, Weasly, etc.) No one at Magic-University will ask your real name. We may, however, ask you to provide a nickname (which can be initials, numbers, whatever) so that we can use that to identify you and your character.
   
   1. Since this is a college, all incoming student bios must be at between the ages of 16-21. The only exceptions to this rule will be at the webmistresses descretion and the bio will have to include reasons to the younger age (i.e. child prodigy, elf, etc.)
   2. All character registrations must have an email address. If they don't, they will be discarded.
   3. All character registrations must be filled out COMPLETELY!
   4. When filling out the "character's personality" part of your registration, please be creative. Boring, short or non-existant will get your registration denied. We want creative and fun RPers on this site and that is the first place we look at to see if you are. All character registrations must have a profile written of at least 50 words. I will no longer accept "smart, pretty, good student" as a profile.
   5. After one month, if your character has not posted or has posted only once or twice in that month (not counting if you are in a conversation and waiting for another character to respond. But even then you can go other places...) I will delete your character from Magic University. If you find that I did that and choose to want that character back, you will have to re-register that character.
   
   C. Again, Make sure you fill out the entire registration, including a correct return email address, so that we can contact you to accept (or deny) your registration. Incomplete registrations forms will not be accepted.
   E. DO NOT post on Magic University boards until you have received a letter of acceptance from the Chancellor or Vice Chancellor via email.
   
   F.No one will be accepted for a home/apt. in the neighborhood until you are a proven player. (meaning that you post regularly.) and your character has to have been with the school for at least 2 months.
   
   G. Each person can have a maximum of 3 characters. All of those characters are expected to be active as well as do homework for the classes you chose. So choose your classes wisely. You don't want to have 3 characters in Potions class because you will have to do a homework assignment for each of those characters.
   
   Teacher, TA and Extra Character Registrations:
   
   a. If applying for a teaching or TA position, you must be either be a known registered player or very creative. Complete the form, giving us reason to accept your registration for a teaching position or any staff position at MU. A registration will not be accepted if we feel you are not up for the job. We reserve the right to refuse any application without stating the reason.
   b. Extra Character registration must be completed and giving reason for your character to be here (examples: family member, shop owner, needed for part of a storyline, etc.)
   
   
3. We don't want to limit what you say or limit your other creative ideas (including your character names), but if anyone posts ugly, nasty, or inappropriate content we'll do our best to take care of it quickly - which means that we will delete it from the site without notice. We all want Magic-University.com to be a clean place for everyone. If you do see anything mean, nasty or distasteful on the site, please e-mail us immediately at [email protected] so that we can remove it right away.
4. If you write something that catches our eye on a message board or in a chat room, we might want to use it on the site or elsewhere when talking about the site. By sending in your comments and using the chat rooms, and getting your parents' permission to do so, you (and your parents) are agreeing that it's okay to repeat on the site and elsewhere what you say, and it's even all right for us to put it in an advertisement. So, this means we can use it in any way we want, anywhere, until the end of time. If you're under age 18, remember to ALWAYS check with your parents before you send anything to us or post anything on the site!
5. By uploading or otherwise submitting any materials to Magic-University.com (such as poems, pictures, etc.), you (and your parents) are automatically granting us permission to use those materials for free in any manner we can think of forever throughout the universe. These materials must be created ONLY by the person submitting them - you cannot submit someone else's work unless you credit them in the post. If you're under age 18, again, ALWAYS check with your parents before you send anything to us or post anything on the site!
6. You understand that, as part of playing on the Magic-University.com, you will receive e-mail from Magic-University.com and/or teachers and staff that lets you know when certain events happen, such as, homework assignments, registration news, and newsletters, etc. And you agree to accept those e-mails as such.
7. You understand and agree that you will not post any: Profanity or obscenities (i.e., "swear words"). Personal attacks on other people � Slanderous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, threatening and harassing comments and/or images. Materials created by someone else without their express written permission to do so. Private or personal information that might identify another user BEWARE: If you do, then we can and will remove all messages you have posted, your character(s), and everything associated with your character.
8. In the hopes that we will be having some sort of password protection now and/or in the future this condition is applied at this point. Attempting to gain access to someone else's passwords, hacking, or trying to get other people's passwords is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN. If you are found to have hacked, or to have tried to get anyone else's passwords, then your character (posts, access, etc.) will be deleted and you will be permanently banned from the site.
