George's Writing

Wine and Tears

This world spreads wide before mine eyes.
A body in silent motion twisting and curving to shape
Beauty of a wine glass.
Its body an hour glass of crystal roundness.
Flowing down a fluted stem that runs into a spiral base.
The perfection took my breath away and I reach to touch the cool material.
But a thunder rolled in and a fierce winded picked up and threw me away. My eyes roamed all around lost and confused.
Then I focused on the wine glass.
It ever slowly started to crack, spider webs of weakness
I could feel all the way in own heart.
I threw out my hand with a whispered plea on my lips.
But the crystal continued to break.
My heart constricted and I screamed out.
The tiny beautiful crystal glass shattered millions of shards piercing and cutting my flesh.
I press shacking hands to my breast falling, grasping my soaked shirt.
Why am I so damp? I ask, holding my hand up to mine eyes and saw the
blood shocking my delicate white skin.
It was not some glass that I watch break but my own heart.
I knew then that I would never recover it had pumped its last beat into the thunders cry.
Swept away by the wing that dances playfully along into the world beyond.
