I wrote this when I had been laid off by the State of Georgia, (led by then Gov. Zell Miller) even though I had been nominated for an Employee of the Year award. My wife was eight months pregnant with my second child, my father had just died, and man, did I ever have to grovel. You really come to appreciate the important things in life like: family, people you love, and those special people who love you.
