When I feel so, I feel oh so alone,
And my days just get the better of me.
And there seems that there's no, no one that I can confide in,
To ease all my troubles and this pain.
There's a veil that seems to keep me from opening my eyes,
The darkness, it surrounds me.
So I listen for you, for your still small voice,
a gentle cool breath in the wind, telling me it'll be alright.
Come Bathe in the light,
let the water rush over you,
let it open your eyes,
don't be afraid, just stand here by my side,
just let the light shine right out of you...
Is there no place where, no one that I can turn to,
Who will see me for myself.
Seems that all my, all my bridges got burned,
While I stood standing on them in the rain.
I'll pretend that I just, I just don't care anymore.
Wont you come and take me away,
to some place I can leave all my, leave all my sorrows behind.
Where I can step right into the light, can you hear them calling us...
Come Bathe in the light,
let the water rush over you,
let it open your eyes,
keep on turning round and round, like the sun that brightens our days,
just let the light shine right out of you...
When the good things in life, they seem so far away,
and you just can't find a reason to smile,
Just think about me baby, then try to reach for the light,
ooh yeah, the pilot light burns inside you, so come on, come on with me...
Come Bathe in the light,
let the water rush over you,
let it open your eyes,
just let the light shine right out of you...
Just let the light shine right out of you!!
I originally wrote this song as a slam to the religious TV charlatans who use the airwaves to bilk old people out of their retirement savings. But one day while I was working on the song, (during an exhaustive depression I might add,) I fell asleep at the piano and when I awoke, the lyrics and chorus written here had replaced the meanspirited lyrics I had intended to write.
