I first heard the Juliana Theory while surfing through Tooth and Nail's band pages. They had information on each band, then links to their official sites. Truthfully I was on a search for a new band to like, I was getting a bit tired of my regular old stuff.
I came upon these guys, and never having heard of them before I decided to check them out. I went to their site, and since they didn't have a full cd out yet I had to listen to a song they had right there. It was called "August In Bethany", and I completely fell in love with the song. This was before their first full length cd came out (on Tooth and Nail) so I had to wait a while to go pick up the cd, "Understand This is a Dream".
So picked up the first cd, and I have to say that I played it a LOT. It soon became a favorite. I think the Juliana Theory has an awesome combination of neat melodies, catchy lyrics and creativity, just enough to make them a likeable band to everyone.
August 29, 2000 The Juliana Theory's second cd "Emotion is Dead" was released. I've heard a lot of opinions on this cd, like whether or not it is better than the first one. I actually think it is. My favorite song on the cd is "This is Your Life" (Lyrics below). Find out more about the Juliana Theory and listen to some mp3's at Their website
THIS IS YOUR LIFE by brett detar and chad alan
baby baby baby
you say, "this is your life, well where is mine?"
how you gonna get there going nowhere?
burn yourself out, die too soon
you see the world is only temporary
everybody's scared that they'll be no one too
how you gonna hold out when you sold out?
life's a riddle, here's a clue
you see, a moment's only temporary
let too many go, and you will be history too
"why?" you ask me
"why?" i'll tell you
"why?" i will tell you
you gave up
