*P.O.D.*

est. 1992

P.O.D. (Payable On Death) has created a ministry that just keeps growing and growing. For nearly nine years this band has taken a bold in-your-face stand for their faith. Formed in 1992, shortly after Sonny's mother died, they were new in the Christian walk. Sonny hadn't been a Christian, but his mom had, and she had praying for him for a long time. Sonny was saved after watching his mother die with full belief and reassurance in her savior (as explained through "Full Color").

P.O.D. was/is heavily into touring and promoted themselves all the time. They recorded and distributed one cd INDEPENDENTLY which sold over 30,000 units. P.O.D. recorded "The Warriors Ep" which was put out on Tooth and Nail and was like a pre-release special for "The Fundamental Elements of Southtown". It includes a rougher cut of "Southtown", a track of "Full Color" and instrumental version of "Follow Me", entitled "Sabbath". This cd also has one of my new favorite P.O.D. songs "Draw the Line", which is almost an anthem for Christians' unity. "Who's gonna draw the line? (We're gonna draw the line!) Who's gonna draw the line? (We're gonna draw the line!) Together, in any endeavor! Forever and ever!"

P.O.D. (Sonny, Wuv, Traa and Marcos) amazed record labels with their ability to sell cds and sell out shows. In 1998 they were signed to Atlantic Records, and The Fundamental Elements of Southtown was released soon after. Along with a the record deal came hits on MTv, rock radio, and many magazine interviews. P.O.D. was voted "People of the Year" by an online poll by Rolling Stone magazine. P.O.D. most recently played at the Sundance film festival.

P.O.D. plays with secular bands often, but they won't back down on their faith. I have heard it is amazing to see a band play before P.O.D. that will be cussing out you, and your mom, and singing about all kinds of perverted and disgusting stuff, then P.O.D. comes out, and they're all about positive things. Someone somewhere once said that you could just feel the love flowing off the stage. P.O.D. is taking the Message where it needs to go.

Marcos (Guitars), Wuv (drums), Sonny (vocals), Traa (Bass)

Outkast

I'm an outkast
But don't count me out

Underground dwellaz
roaming beneath the cellars
failed us with this system
ain't living how they tell us
Hideaway place
it's safe
they raise a nation of hate
erase a man for his faith
they feed us lies
dress up my King in false disguise
behind those eyes
soul of a savior I recognize
no compromise
while the whole world becomes corrupt
tonight we break the surface for lives
we coming up

Brother take my hand, let's separate ourselves
Leave behind this place, don't ever look back

Disgraced man
Survivors of the wasteland
looking for a home of his own
no place to run
no place to hide
it's time for you to stand on your own
militia
coalition
not of this world
resistance
we the alliance
we freedom fighters
it's honor we defend
we follow Truth and never your trends

Brother take my hand, let's separate ourselves
Leave behind this place, don't ever look back

I'm an outkast, but don't ever count me out!

(Brace yourself like a man)
