Jars of Clay

Now it's really hard to critique this band, so I won't. I guess I'll just take examples of their music, share some lyrics, and so on.

This band has been around a few years, and is definitely a favorite among all kinds of Christian music fans (and even some non-Christian). Their first, self-titled cd is one of my all-time favorites. Not only is it a wonderful musical cd, but it also is a very worshipful one. "Love Song for a Savior" (#3) is my favorite song on this cd, with words like "Seems to easy to call You savior, not close enough to call You God. So as I sit and think of words I can mention, to show my devotion: I want to fall in love with You." #8, "Flood" is another highlight, being the most upbeat song on the album. I've seen Jars once in concert and this was definitely the crowd favorite. "Worlds Apart" is a moving song about giving our lives over to God.

Jars of Clay's second cd, "Much Afraid" was quite unexpected in the way it presented itself musically. The acoustics weren't used really, and it was quite different from the first cd, yet it is still really good. Highlights from this cd include "Overjoyed", "Crazy Times" and "Hymn".

Jars' most recent release,"If I Left The Zoo",took us back to what Jars' sounded like on the first cd. Lots of acoustics and the same folk/rock/acoustic feel. This cd is on my top ten list. My favorites include "No One Loves Me Like You", "Famous Last Words" and "I Collide". This cd is really fun to listen to on headphones and hear the little extras that you can't always hear on a stereo. This is a needed album for any cd collection.
