Purity Knight was 20 years old when she was stalked, abducted and murdered
near her home in Oxford County, Mississippi.
                  The abductor had sent investigators several notes and photographs leading to
where Purity Knight was buried alive. It was obvious that he didn�t want Purity to die and
was upset with the police when they couldn�t find her at first.
                  As some time passed a 9 year old boy, Dylan Tull, had witnessed the burial of
Purity. Often Dylan would come and visit Purity and do favors for her as long as Purity
told him stories. One particular story was recorded on a toy tape recorder that was found
in Dylan�s toy chest after investigators searched Dylan�s home. Also when Dylan would
come and visit Purity he�d bring her food and made sure she was okay.
               One day Purity told Dylan to bring her some paper and a pen/pencil so she could
write a note. The note was to Detective David Anderson. The not never made it to
Detective Anderson in time. When Dylan was taking the note to the Detective a man not
far from the crime scene stopped Dylan and told him to give him the note. Dylan did as
he was told. The note was later found in a Mississippi library stuck in between pages 54
and 55 of the Complete Poems by Edgar Allen Poe. The book was found when the
Mississippi Sheriffs Department requested an inventory on all of Poe�s books available at
libraries and book stores state wide.
               Dylan was first suspected to know something when his Summer Camp Councilors
viewed some of Dylan�s drawings that were very disturbing coming from a 9 year old
boy.
              When police investigated the area near Purity�s home footprints were found with
photographs mainly of Purity but also of her roommate, Lee Perez. Investigators
suspected Matthew Owens as the abductor.
            At the end of the investigation, Edward Pierce, was charged with the abduction
and murder of Purity Knight.
