Slipknot Facts
Slipknot made all their own masks.

Leather straps and other modifications were made by a friend of the band.

Chris's nose is 7 inches long.

Craig's mask used to be a plastic racing helmet from a gas station. The spikes are 6 inch
nails scotch taped to the helmet. They look like rubber when he head bangs because the
tape does not hold them totally secure.

All the dreads on Corey's mask are made out of his real hair. They have twine wrapped
around them. He cut the dreads off because he was sick of having to pull them through
holes in the mask.

Joey cuts the arms and legs off his coveralls to make it easier to play the drums.

Jim has had 2 masks. The first was the old guitarist's (the leather bondage mask seen in
old pictures and the cover of the album). He wore it until he made his own mask that
better fit his personality (the jester mask).

The barcode on the jumpsuits and in the people = shit logo is the real barcode from the
Mate Feed Kill Repeat album.

The same barcode # is the title of the first track of the self titled album.

When Slipknot first started practicing, they played in one of the guys' basement. To
soundproof the walls, they took carpet samples and scraps from a nearby Pet Grooming
center... according to one of the guys, "The animals that were there had bladder
problems, because the carpet smelled like animal piss... thereby making our practice
space smell the same way."

The basement Slipknot practiced in was so small that not all the guys could fit in the
main area, so Craig had to set his equipment up and jam from the laundry room.

At a show in England, #0 jumped off a balcony at one of Slipknot' shows and landed on a
fan. It hurt the young woman bad enough to hospitalize her, but she's ok. Sid was rather
distraught about the whole thing, and it brought him to tears according to one music news
site.

At another show, Sid was lighting one of the drum heads of Chris' set on fire, and some
of the lighter fluid got on the leg of Sid's coveralls and set him on fire. It singed all the
hair off his body, which explains his shaven head as of late.

Shawn has a wife and 3 kids... one of whom has a penchant for drawing crayon pictures
of the devil.... (Musical Dynasty anyone?)

Shawn used to be a welder, and made his own drum set ( the titanium kegs)

Slipknot's old practice space was a basement so small that Craig had to sample from the
laundry room.

Slipknot's old practice space smelled like urine because the carpeting used to sound proof
the place used to be in a pet store.... u get the idea...

Before the jumpsuits Corey wore a Preists outfit, mick a little-bo-peep dress

Mick played guitar 16 years before joining slipknot, and says he is a born "Shredder"

Slipknot writing process:
The "core group" Mick, Jim, Joey, and Paul will work out a new songs primary structure
Then in rehershal extras like percussion, DJ beats, and samples are added where needed
Sometimes songs develope in the couse of jamming or fooling around with a riff(Spit it
Out)
Eyeless started with a beat Sid was kicking out from his turntables, Mick started playing
the little noise line, and soon the song was written
ONCE THE MUSIC IS COMPLETED, Corey works on lyrics.

Slipknot sold over 40,000 records in the first week of being released.

Their final tour date promoting the self titled album was 11/01/00 at the Electric Factory
in Philadelphia, PA.

No member of the band uses drugs or abuses alchohol

Slipknot was asked to play the 2000 ozzfest, they declined in favor of headlining the first
ever tattoo the earth

SLipknot's goal is world domination.

Slipknot played their first show on April 28, 1996 at Hairy Mary's II in the suburbs of Des
Moines.

Corey used to work in a porno shop.

Corey cut the word SLAYER into his arm when he was 14 before a Slayer show

Corey does check his email, it may not be often, but he checks, and reads every single
email.

Corey used to blast "master of puppets" before school to help cope.

The band is "banned" from Musicland in des moines after a in-store signing, the store
was remodeling, and kids started stealing and breaking chunks of dry wall, when the cops
started to confiscate it, Slipknot demanded that there was no proof that they broke it off...
Corey says he still goes there all the time, they don't know who he is....

Shawn smears shit and puke all over his mask

Coreys newer mask has rubber pegs facing inward to make it seem like there is an iron
maiden on his face

Slipknot is the first platinum selling band/album in Roadrunner Records history

Shawn was the first member to wear a mask

The band makes decisions democratically

Sid has about 8 gasmasks

Craig #5 Is the webmaster of slipknot1.com

Mick still gives guitar lessons at Ye old guitar shop in Iowa

Craig's name 133 has a speculated story behind it. 133 (Craig's name) multiply it by 5 (his
number) plus 1 (his person) and you get 666.

The picture on the cover of "Slipknot" was taken in Shawn Crahan's parent's garage.

The inside tray photo was Slipknot's roadie wrapped up in cellophane and spray painted
to look (sic). It is known as "wrapped in plastic".

Corey has the Japanese character for "death" tattooed on one side of his neck, and the
character for "father" on the other side. This was because he never knew his father. It on
the outside edges of his number which is also tattooed on his neck.
