Heart of a Thousand of Words -- Reader's Page

Dear Editor,

Hi! I am a reader of TVB Magazine and one of Maggie Siu's super fans. It's been a long time since this magazine has done a cover story on her or even report on news of Maggie. Hope "TVB Weekly" would do something about it! She honestly is one of the most talented performer with such style and grace who rarely seeks the spotlight type of superb actress. Hope this magazine would help her out and support her!

In one of the last issues of 1998, "TVB Weekly" did a feature of TVB's 1999 upcoming lineup. In the article, it talked about a show that has Maggie Siu and Lawrence Ng as the main leads called "Fat Mong Kwun Ying". When will this series be shown? It's been a while since we've last seen a series about law and it would be a great loss if this show goes into the vault to never the light of day. If TVB does not want to broadcast it, would it be possible to lend it to me so I can dub it? I really want to see Maggie play a main lead! In "ATE", Maggie Siu's screen time is less than ten minutes per episode. Undoubtedly, her performance is remarkable -- her character'sstyling is refined, elegant, with fiery integrity and sweet innocence -- that jumps right out at me. Sadly, her role is so tiny that it does not give Maggie the opportunity to unleash her full potential. I don't understand why TVB doesn't give Maggie more chances to perform! Please expand Maggie's role in the last 50 chapters of "ATE"!

Finally, Editor, is it possible to reveal what will happen to Maggie's character in the last half of the series? Thanks for your help!

Hello Kitty

Hello Kitty:

First of all, thank you for your support of our magazine and Maggie. We support all of TVB's performers wholeheartedly so much so that we would not neglect anyone of them. (Compare to other publications that have gone the sleazy route, don't you agree.)

As for our reports of the upcoming years future lineup, most of news are in development with the starpower and content constantly changing affected by the trends of the moment, environment and other circumstances. That is why the "Fat Mong Kwun Ying" series you mentioned was never even made. In 1999, a lot of exciting shows were produced and hopefully, you would able to enjoy them all this year.

As for "ATE", I don't agree that Maggie Siu has too little screen time. In the first 50 episodes, she and Nicky Wu were left off being captured by terrorists in the Phillipines. This would be the focal point at the start in the last 50 episodes. I'm sure you saw the pictures of Maggie and Nicky in Fei Do (Fei Island) doing their hostage scenes. How can that not be important?

Finally, I can tell you some good news. Maggie and Nicky in the last part of "ATE" will have a happy ending!
