The Year in Review
We started out the year so small!
Hayden: 5lbs, 2 1/2oz
Zoe: 4lbs, 15oz
Check us out at our first birthday!
Hayden: 19lbs, 10oz
Zoe: 19lbs, 4oz
Zoe had a great time with the cake after she understood what to do with it.  Very little made it anywhere but her mouth.
Hayden was all about the cake,  She liked the way it squished between her fingers.  Tasted good and felt good, it was a hit!
Halloween was great fun this year!  Not sure if the girls liked getting dressed up, but I certainly liked dressing them.
We took the girls out trick-or-treating because basically I just wanted to show them off to everyone (we didn't take any treats).  They were so cute in the costumes Nana got for them from E-Bay.  I think they had a great time, Russ and I did anyway.
We took the girls to the pumpkin farm to pick pumpkins... yet another event that was more for Russ and I than for the girls.  Although Hayden enjoyed the petting zoo.  This cow enjoyed Hayden.
I can hardly believe my girls are a year old- almost 14 months now.  The past year was one of the most amazing in my life.  Being a mother is the most rewarding, frustrating, joyous, patience building, overwhelming, and awesome thing.  The girls are so cool now and are learning so fast.  Both of them are walking all over the place- have been since about 2 weeks before they turned one.  They are turning into little daredevils now- both know how to climb the stairs, get on the couch, stand on the ottoman, generally do things that make me freak out.  Zoe has learned how to say hat, random but true.  Hayden's big word is uh-oh.  She says it right after she drops something and lately right before she drops something on purpose. It has definitely been a year of blessings.  My mom was diagnosed with colon cancer in October, but with surgery she made a full recovery. Russ took a new job at Ft. Detrick in November which has given him regular hours and one snow day so far!  I plan to keep updating the web site (finally got that extra space) so look for more e-mails to come!  Happy New Year.
The girls first visit with Santa was good (for about the first 2 minutes upon which time Zoe decided she was no longer a fan)  Christmas was fun, but I know next year will be even better when the girls actually understand the idea behind opening presents.
