I was born on Long Island July 25, 1967. I am the oldest child and the oldest in my generation (talk about pressure) and I have one sister. My family lived in Connecticut for most of my childhood, I attended Pomperaug Regional High School in Southbury and graduated in 1985. After high school, I attended Mount Holyoke College where I received my degree in Mathematics and Psychology in 1989. Mount Holyoke is an amazing place- some of the best friendships of my life were formed there.
Next, it was off to Boston University for graduate study in Psychology. After leaving, I moved back to Connecticut and worked at various jobs until I was offered an 8th grade mathematics position on Cape Cod. I taught for 4 years and came to the conclusion that it just wasn't for me, so I returned to school in the fall of 1996 to pursue the field of physical therapy at Fisher College. I graduated in May of 1998 and am now a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Massachusetts. Changes in medicare made it extremely difficult for PTs and PTAs to find work, so I went into research. I am currently the Core Administrator at the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging- a division of the Radiology Department at Massachusetts General Hospital. The center's mission is to "create, develop and apply a variety of innovative and advanced imaging technologies toward a more comprehensive understanding of and better care of the human mind and body." Current projects can be found on our website (who's upkeep is part of my current job).
While work pays the bills, I keep busy doing the things I love- theater, sports, and the outdoors. I am an avid reader and movie-goer, and feel incredibly blessed to have both a wonderful family and great friends.
