He sat there, thinking about his life, about the things that had once been. He stopped himself, no, not once had been, but could have been his life.

Born into the world of the vampire was a cruel fate, but it was better than being brought over from natural life, there was nothing that one could miss. He missed many things, things he had not even experienced before. Sunlight, hapiness, love.... Most of which that were forbidden to him.

His brother dwelt in a similar world, but one of his own putrid creation. Radu was a demon, created of a demon. His father, Stefan's father, had fallen under a spell of an evil sorceress. Sorceress, witch, hag...whatever he pleased to call her, it was always the same. Pure evil.

Radu had been conceived of this evil. Then his father had fallen in love with a peasent girl, and Stefan was born of that love. He was also the heir to the bloodstone, which was a giving life force to vampires. He couldn't shake the feeling of darkness when he thought of this. Radu had been the King's first born, which meant that the blood stone was his birth rite. But he had been banished a long time past.

Stefan looked up towards the dark moon, which was clearly visible from the window. To most humans, the moon was an alumination of the night. To him, it was darness, a darkness that binded him to his destiny and fate. A fate, that was clearly worste than death.
