DISCLAIMER: Aladdin and crew all belong to Walt Disney. I own Myranah, her father, and Prince Shabdul. That's it, end of story!
In the palace of Myranah's father....
"I hope you have arranged it so it will be flawless!" The Sultan spoke to the man before him. The man bowed, an evil leer pasted on his face. "Do not worry about the matter, come tommorow night, princess Myranah will be back where she belongs, and married....to me!"
Agrabah.....
Jasmine walked through the managerie with her cousin, the two had been talking all morning. The subject span from her upcoming marriage to Mechanicles, to how they had met, and to any future plans. "I still can't believe it! I would have guessed a lot of people would jump at the chance of marrying you, but Mechanicles?!" Jasmine laughed, shaking her head. "I know what you mean, I never expected him to dive into the subject like that, did you see the look on his face when I accepted?" Myrna giggled, remembering how his jaw had dropped. "Why do you like him so much anyway? I mean, enough to marry him?" Jasmine asked, raising an eyebrow in question.
"Well....he's cute, smart, he's very sweet to me, and he's.....a bit of a romantic too!" Myrna blushed, remebering when they had gone out on a moonlight ride on Scooter. Mechanicles must have spent a half-hour pouring out all this Greek poetry to her. Not that she hadn't enjoyed it!
"There is one thing you can be sure of Myrna," Jasmine said with a slight smile. "What?" Myranah asked curiously. "He loves you!" Jasmine said softly. Iago had heard most of the conversation, and flew in to perch on Myranah's shoulder. "More like he obsesses over you as much as *keeping the wrinkles out of his tunic*," the parrot said in an annoying squeky voice. Myrna and Iago were learning to get along, but mainly, they just threw *friendly* insults at each other.
Suddenly, there was a bright flash of colourful lights, and Genie came swooping into the managerie. "Well....how's the future bride-to-be?" He asked loudly. "Waiting for Mechanicles to come get me!" Myrna answered with a laugh. She liked Genie, he was flashy, loud and fun, he always had a way of making her laugh.
"Speaking of Mechanicles, where is the bug-man?" Genie asked, doing a three-sixty spin with his head. Myrna smiled. "He's working on some new invention, I suppose! He should be here soon." As if on cue, Scooter came flying in, with Mechanicles hanging on. They landed in front of the group, and Mechanicles dis-mounted. "Hello my dear," he said to Myrna, kissing her softly. She smiled, and with a wave, got onto Scooter. Just then, Aladdin came running onto the managerie. "Mechanicles? What are you doing here?" He hissed. Myrna's eyes turned hard and cold. "He's come to pick me up so we can go home *Aladdin*," she pulled the last word as though she was talking about death.
Aladdin still didn't believe that Mech had mended his evil ways. "You shouldn't ride that thing Myrna, you could get hurt," he said, motioning to Scooter. This seemed to anger Mechanicles as he approached Aladdin slowly. "I'll have you know *boy* that I've perfected Scooter in every way, and I would never in my life allow any harm to come to Myrna," he growled. Aladdin laughed sarcastically. He still thought that Mechanicles was just trying to use Myranah is some way.
Mechinicles shook his head. "Oh why am I wasting my time with you Aladdin, your princess, the Sultan, even the Genie all know I love her more then anything. But I guess your a hopeless cause!" He said slowly. He then turned around and got onto Scooter, holding Myranah protectivly. The machine lifted off, and the two were soon out of sight.
Jasmine shook her head, and walked back to the palace. The Genie just gave Aladdin a look. "You know Al, you should try to give him a chance!" When Aladdin didn't say anything the Genie left as well. The rest of the group followed, leaving him alone with his doubts.
**********
As Myranah flew threw the air on Scooter, she clung to Mechanicles for dear life. Flying on Scooter always made her a little edgy, and while she knew that she was perfectly safe with Mechanicles, she couldn't help but be afraid of the height. "Are you alright Myrna?" Mechanicles gazed down at her, slight worry etching his brow. She smiled as reassuringly as she could manage, and nodded. He seemed cinvinced, and smiled back at her.
Finally, they arrived at Mechanicle's lair, and he helped her step off Scooter. They walked inside, and Myranah had to once again take the time to admire it. His insects lined the walls, and some unfinished inventions lay at the corner of his workshop in a straight and orderly line. Everything looked spik and span, and the floor shone. "Oh my, look at this place. You go rest now Myrna, I have to get to cleaning this up right away, my workshop is a mess!" Mechanicles complained.
Myranah gave his an odd stare, trying to locate the *mess* he was talking about somewhere in his workshop. Everything looked perfect to her. But then, this *was* Mechanicles, so she knew that arguing with him over the matter had no point at all. He had to be completely satisfied, so she let him get onto his cleaning.
"Uh...want any help Mech?" She asked, trying to see what she could clean, and not finding anything. "No no no no no, you need not to trouble yourself with such things, I'll take care of it!" He asnwered, taking both her hands in his and looking into her eyes steadily.
Myrna took the time to note how dark they were, so brown they were almost black. She liked that. "Are you sure?" She asked again, toying with the end of his white tunic in a bored way. "Absolutely!" He said gently. She smiled up at him, and he leaned down to kiss her. But before their lips had touched, there was a sharp pain in the back of her head, and Myrna fell to the floor. She could see Mechanicles fighting with someone, and she was about to cry out for help, when she felt a strong hand close over her mouth, cutting off her cry. Myrna was dragged outside, kicking as best she could. But the diziness that the blow to her head had caused was making the fight futile.
She was thrown onto a horse, allowing her time to scream for help, but no one heard her. The man who had grabbed her, got onto the horse, and with a kick and a mighty cry, the horse went into a fast gallop. Myranah was panicking by then. Who was the man? Where was he taking her? And most of all, what had happened to Mechanicles? "Let me go..." She screamed. "You will do well to be quite, your father has arranged a special ceremony to honour this day!" Said a deep voice. She recognized the voice instantly. "You!" She gasped. She managed to look up, and instantly recognized the face leering down at her. "It's you!"
The horse gallowed as if all hell was chasing after them, further and further away from the places and people she could have recognized. Closer to the very place she had run away from. From her palace, her prison. "Soon you will be where you belong princess, married to a prince, and not some ridiculous inventor," Prince Shabdul growled. Myranah's eyes reflected the hatred she felt for her old suitor. Her father had tried to force her to marry this man, because the man was rich, and Myranah was beautiful. That was all. No love, or compassion, much less resepect. That's why she had refused to marry him. But this was going too far, much too far.
"I will never marry you, creep!" She hissed angerily. "Oh but my dear future wife, you have no choice!" The Prince laughed, cruelty etching every word. "My friends will come, they'll find me and stop you," she screamed. He laughed, mocking the possibility. "But my dear, by the time they find out, it will be too late! My royal guard has taken care of your pathetic fianc, and now....nothing stands between us!" He said calmly.
Myrna's eyes widened. "What have you done to him?" She gasped, fearing what he had to say. "Let's just say, that problem has been taken care of....permanently!" The Prince laughed, enjoying the emotional torture he was exposing her too. Myrna's head fell, as she sobbed quietly. But a small spark of hope remained. Mechanicles was tricky, and his workshop, she knew, was rigged with dozens of traps for *medlesome strangers*. He must have figured out a way to escape death. All she could do for the moment, was pray that this faith came through in time.
**********
Mechanicles dodged the large muscled guard as best he could. But it was difficult since the guard was waving around a dangerously sharp spear, aiming for his throat. A thought came to Mech just in time, and he remembered one of the booby traps he had set not far from the guard. He had taken the time to show Myranah every trap and how to activate it. He didn't want her getting hurt because of him. His heart ached at the thought of her, and despite his current situation, he hoped she was alright. If whoever had taken her harmed a single hair on her head, he would march his entire insect armada after them.
"Give up you pathetic, weak, fool! I have orders to kill you, and I never fail to complete them!" The guard sneered. Mechanicles glanced behind him quickly. There was a spot on the floor directly behind the guard, where if you stood for a certain amount of time....
There! The guard stood exactly on the spot, and Mechanicles took a great risk. He had to keep him there for ten seconds, and then it would be over. He walked directly in front of him, his hands turned to fists at his sides. "It is you who are the fool!" He sneered, regaining a bit of his snobby attitude and leering at the guard sarcastically. The guard drew his arm back, spear in hand, and dove straight at Mech's throat.
Mechanicles closed his eyes, waiting for the pain to come, and then the inky blackness. In his heart, he silently told Myrna how much he loved her, and waited for death. But no such thing came. Instead, his eyes flew open as he heard the guard cry out in alarm, and heard the sound of the spear falling to the stone floor. He glanced up at the guard, suspended a few feet above the air, in a strong rope net. No matter how much he struggled, he couldn't get out.
Picking up the spear, Mechanicles smiled devilishly. "Now! We're going to have a nice talk. Your going to tell me what I want to know, and I may consider letting you live. You decide not to speak....." He held the spear out, running a finger over the shap edge. The guard winced, and nodded. Mechanicle's smile grew calmer. "Good! That's what I like to see, a bit of co-operation!"
It took two minutes for the guard to babble everything out, and Mechanicles left him dangling there. He ran over to some controls, pulling levers and activating numerous switches. There was a not-so-distant rumbling, as the earth began to shake, and huge metallic monsters came from beneath the ground. Mechanicles had not used them in a while. It was about time for a come-back.
He rode on Scooter while his insects proceeded full speed towards where the guard had told him Myranah was being held captive. He had also told him that she was being forced to marry some prince. He growled angerily, his entire body almost shaking in fury. If anyone got in his way....
Myranah sat in the room. She had tried to escape, only to discover that the windows had bard on them, the door was locked from the outside, and guards practically surrounded her in all directions. She sighed, and looked at the dress on the bed in revulsion. It was a wedding dress, white with a light blue trimming and collar. She'd be damned if she ever wore it. The prince had brought her to her father, who ordered her to be married off to Prince Jerk. Then she had been thrown into this room, and ordered to put on her wedding dress. She had already been there for nearly an hour. She only have half an hour before the ceremony. She was getting desperate, and her faith was quickly fading away, like her life would if they managed to make her say "I do" at the alter. Because she certainly wouldn't say it off her own free will. She looked out the window at the sky, wishing she could see the familiar sight of Mechanicles flying in on Scooter. But she only saw the clear blue sky, interrupted now and again by the swirl of the desert sands.
"I knew it, I knew it!" Aladdin scremed angerly, pointing an accusing finger at anyone he could blame. Which happened to be Genie. "Oh come on Al, there must be something more going on when Mechanicles just barges into the Sultan's palace like that!" Genie pleaded. They had just recieved word that Myranah's father had seen Mechanicles rampaging towards his palace, leading a gigantic army of mechanical soldiers. Of course, her father had lied about it. Saying that he had no idea why Mechanicles was doing this, and that Myranah had hidden from him in the palace.
"Isn't is obvious to you yet? Mechanicles used Myranah to get to the Sultan of her city. He doesn't love her at all!" Aladdin cried in desperation, convinced that he had been right all along. Genie's shoulders fell, and he sighed in defeat. "Okay Al, so what do you think we should do?" Genie asked softly. He knew there had to be an explenation for Mechanicle's sudden attack, but that would take time. Unfortunately, time was the one thing Aladdin was not willing to wait for.
"We're going to help him, and stop Mechanicles!" Aladdin announced, whisteling for carpet, who flew into the room instantly. Aladdin jumped on carpet, and they were off. Genie flew after them, dismayed at the situation. He decided that he would find Myranah and straighten this all out.
They arrived in the city of Aspaghas within the hour, and Genie flew over to Aladdin. "Al, I'm gonna find Myrna and make sure she's okay!" He cried. Without waiting for a reply, he flew full-speed towards the palace. Aladdin drew his attention back to the mission at hand. He could see Mechanicles on Scooter, flying around the palace. It was as if he was looking for something. Aladdin shook his head. Mechanicles was probably looking for a safer way in. But guards had padlocked all routes in and out. Aladdin could also see that Mechanicles huge insects had almost reached the palace.
He flew in on carpet, and above Mechanicles. Before Mechanicles could dodge out of the way, Aladdin jumped down, knocking him off Scooter. The carpet caught Aladdin, but Mechanicles fell onto one of the stone balconies. He winced in pain and stood slowly. It had not been a long fall, so nothing was broken, and he didn't think he was too severely hurt.
From her barred window, Myrna had seen everything that had been happening for the past while. She had tried calling out to Mechanicles, but he had not heard her through all the commotion. She noticed Scooter, flying through the air, towards Mechanicles. Taking a deep breath, she whisteled as hard as she could. The sharp noise caught the bug's attention, as it flew closer to her window. "Scooter!" Myranah waved to it. Scooter recognized her, and his mechanical mind followed his instincts. It flew over to her. She pet the insect on the head, and motioned to the bars. "Scooter, get rid of these!" Scooter followed orders, and a small but deadly sharp saw appered from the inside of his mouth. "That's new!" Myrna commented when she noticed. Leave it to Mechanicles to be prepared for anything.
It took Scooter a few seconds to saw through the thick metal, but just as Myrna was about to climb onto Scooters back, her door burst open. The prince rushed in, and grabbed her before she could escape. "Got you, you ungrateful little witch!" He screamed, dragging her out the door. "You will marry me, even if it kills me, you will!" He spat out bitterly, heading with her kicking and screaming towards where the wedding was to take place. The guests had not yet arrived, but the minister was already there. The prince noticed him. "You there, begin the marriage ceremony immediately!" He screamed at the man. The minister did as he was told, and began the procession. "No, skip all that garbage, get to the point," the prince said sharply, holding Myranah in place beside him. Myranah prayed silently, that Scooter would inform Mechanicles of where she was.
**********
"Do you Prince Shabdul take this woman as your wife?" The minister drolled. "I do!" The prince barked. "And do you, Princess Myranah..." He didn't get to finish. "Not in a million...." Myranah began, but was cut off as Prince Shabdul lay a hand over her mouth firmly. He pulled her head back, causing her to silently cry out in pain. "Yes, she does!" He said for her. Myrna tried to shake her head in refusal, but the Prince was too strong. Just as it looked hopeless, Myrna heard the sound of a familiar voice, and would have smiled, amidst all the tears rolling down her cheeks. "No! She doesn't!" Cried a sharp, annoyingly high voice.
"Who dares defy my commands?" The Prince screamed, turning to the source of the voice. "I do!" Mechanicles screamed back. He stood in front of the entrance to the largely decorated room, anger practically tearing it's way out of him. The prince smirked. "Very well then, I shall kill you myself!" He threw Myranah aside, causing her to fall painfuly to the ground. Mechanicles tightened his fists until his knuckles turned completely white. "SCOOTER!" He screamed. "NOW!"
Scooter flew into the room from behind Mechanicles, catching the prince my suprise. He knocked him off balance, towards an open window. He teetered at the edge, and almost fell out. Almost.
Managing to catch balance at the last moment, he stood there, a sneer of triumph on his lips. "Looks like your little plan didn't work inventor!" He laughed harshly. Mechanicles smiled swiftly, crossing his arms in front of him and standing proudly. "No, not according to Plan A!" He spoke. Suddenly, a large mechanical snout dove into the window, catching the prince by the neck of his robe, and lifting him high into the air. Mechanicles smirked. "But there's always Plan B!"
The insect lifted it's head even higher, until the prince was suspended dangerously high. Then, with a mighty roar, it released it's iron-like hold. The prince screamed, but then there was only silence. A cold, but comforting silence.
Mechanicles looked towards Myranah. The shock at seeing the man she most feared and hated, plumet to his doom, was imminent on her face. Myranah closed her eyes briefly, remembering his words. "Even if it kills me...". It was over, all over. Not quite! Aladdin flew into the room on magic carpet, catching Mechanicles off guard, and knocking him to the floor.
"Just as I thought! Get away from her!" He screamed. Myranah looked at him oddly, then walked over to Mechanicles and helped him get up. Aladdin watched dumbfounded, as she gently ran a palm down his cheek, which happened to be smeared with sand, and bits of his own blood. "Your hurt!" She remarked, noticing it. He shook his head aimlessly. "It's nothing, I....fell!" He said slowly, giving Aladdin an evil glare. Myranah smiled gently. "You saved me, I knew you would!" The inventor smiled at the comment, a familiar snobby hint came into his voice. He puffed up his chest, looking proud. "Of course! I am Mechanicles..." Myranah placed a finger over his lips. "Greatest of the great Greek geniuses, I know!" She finished for him. She took a look at him, and giggled slightly. "What?" He asked, seemingly confused. "Your dirty!" She said softly. He laughed, hugging her to him. "You know what, for the first time...I don't care!"
A tall, plump man came running into the room. His face was red with anger, and he was sputtering, as if he was trying to talk. "I will never allow my daughter to wed this...this..." he started, but Myranah stepped forward calmly, and looked him straight in the face. "Then you have no daughter....sir!" She finished, making her point. The Sultan's face was covered in an expression of suprised, but then it tightened, turning harsh and cold. "Get out then! Don't ever come back here! I have no daughter!"
Myranah smiled, and walked over to Aladdin. "Aladdin, I think it's time we go home and straighten this whole thing out!" She said with a smile. Myranah and Mechanicles rode Scooter back to Agrabah, with Genie tailing them. Aladdin flew on carpet. There would be lot of explaining, and a lot of apologies, but it was finally over. For now!
