You came into my life one day,
You made me smile anew.
You told me I was special,
My feelings for you grew.
You filled the void within my life,
You made my days seem bright.
You gave me hope where there was none,
You gave my future light.
We shared our lives we shared out thoughts,
We shared our dreams and teased.
We laughed and played for two whole years,
You seemed so very pleased.
You spoke with eyes so soft and brown,
You said you cared for me.
From that moment on we connected in mind,
And bound as spirits will be.
You said we'd always be good friends,
It would always be this way.
I knew your heart and you knew mine,
I trusted you that day.
Then something happened to change it all,
You said it wasn't real.
You left me alone with so many questions,
The dream had lost its appeal.
What happened to the feelings we shared?
I have to wonder why.
Was I mistaken about your words?
Was all of it a lie?
My heart is broken but I must not weep,
Get over it you say.
How do I forget the friendship we had?
I trusted you that day.
