The Vagaries of the Human Heart

The vagaries of the human heart
Whimsy of a fickle soul
Today its all red roses
Tomorrow salty sorrow

An upside down rollercoaster ride
The thrill of the cresting wave
And then the crashing undertow
Only to rise again.
Two Souls Seeping

Two souls seeping
Each into the void of the other

They are before the time of ritual
They are the possibilities of yet to be

And in a single moment
As if suspended

They become eternity

The Surrounding You

I saw a smile today
There was no guile
Just pure and honest and true
And I thought how lovely it would be
To know the surrounding YOU.
A Kiss of Words

A kiss of words~
I pretend they are for me
A gentle touch of imagery
That fans the flames
Of my fevered soul
And rekindles the hope
That love is not a fiction
Invented
By the sad people of Wishitwas

Proclamations ideal
For lifes true love,
Found among the ruins of Is.
Tiny shining treasure
From the pockets of wizards,
Or only fools gold?

Tonight,
Among the warm hushes of the trees
My wizard whispers
Soft and low
Believe in Me
Floating Down the Euphrates

Floating down the Euphrates
A barge of fine design
On the deck a dark eyed lady
Her dress is most refined
The summer days are hazy
And she with her lover there
He a handsome brooding man
Of dark and tussled hair
She feeds him figs with fingers
Most elegant and long
And with her mouth she feeds him love
In the nights she feeds him song
Under the stardust sky they lay
Two lovers intertwined
Floating down the Euphrates
A couplet in Byzantine.
Jazzzzzz

The fan forever turn turn turning
Brown figs in a bright red bowl
Smoke from a cigarette burning
And the jazz playing soft and low

Roguish brown-eyed Byzantine
Whispers to his lover there
In tongues of love most clandestine
Scent of jasmine in the air

Two souls in sensual samba
Two hearts slowly measure the beat
His treble clef to her comma
Neath the fan, with the figs, in the heat
And the jazz playing on and on and on.
Soft and low~

Be Silent

Be silent my love
Be silent
And listen to the wind

Within its roar
You will hear a heart
Beating

Measure for measure
Constant and true
Beating

Be silent my love
And listen
That heart is beating
For you..
