I ran my Home School Class from 5pm to 7pm and as the lesson, we organised and put together the Christmas Party.
I first made the pudding and cake, by mixing cherries and sultanas with a tin of pineapple, adding eggs, sugar, oil, and bread. We steamed half in a metal bowl covered with foil, and baked half in my little oven. The steamed version was softer and would have tasted even better with ice cream, and the baked cake had the cherries blackened on the top, but tasted amazing.
Next we cleaned and cut the potatoes and pumpkin and put them to cook in oil in the ultra large iron frying pan I gave to Grace for Christmas. That was delicious, and the children particularly loved the baked potatoes. I sprinkled some oregano over them and a touch of salt.
Next we made the seasoning for the chicken by cooking chopped onions which I mixed with salt, oregano, and fresh breadcrumbs. When it cooled, we filled the already cooked chickens with the mixture, then heated them in the microwave prior to serving. That was a huge success and enjoyed by all.
Next we laid the table. The Christmas pack we had bought, contained a red table cloth, as well as Christmas plates, so that was wonderful. We laid it all out and added bowls of cashew nuts, pretzels, pineapple, and breadrolls. We added chopsticks and paper cups for the sparkling apple cider that was so delicious.
Then while the carrots were cooking, we placed the food on the table, and the party began.
It was quite enjoyable. It was also everybody's first Christmas party. I provided small gifts for everyone, and some party bombs, and the children played games and giggled, and I also played the piano for a small singsong. It was total fun.
I forgot to light the candles, but the warm, party spirit was there and it was an excellent evening.
