Wood carvings are very ornate and beautifully done.

This one hangs in my room and is waterlilies, sunflowers and cranes.

It has been carved from one slab of wood and is a metre high.

The wood has been carved down to create a 3D carving, and the frame added. The carving has been tinted with brown and a deep green with a brushing of gold, and is quite effective and certainly well done.

I see a carving now and then in a restaurant or a shop, and think this work is marvellous. I think they may be imported from China.
