Now that we know why we get headaches and ways we can alter our lives to prevent them, its time to get down to chemistry. The most important part of headache relief is the treatment and accurate diagnosis. Often times people will think they are having migraine headaches and use migraine medicine. When people are suffering from a headache they want to get rid of it as soon as possible. Most people think that a migraine is just a bad headache. This is a good description of what a migraine is like, but it is not accurate when it comes down to treatment. If you are suffering from a regular headache and choose to use a migraine medicine, such as "Exedrine Migraine," the medicine will either not help you at all or worsen your headache. Every headache sufferer should become more informed of the differences between a migraine and a headache. Ways to tell the difference between headaches and migraines are the symptoms. In migraines people generally suffer from nausea, vomitting, and loss of sensory and motor skills. There are two types of migraines, the type that develop quicker and last a maximum of 60 minutes and the more common type, that can pulsate in the brain from anywhere between 4-72 hours. |
