When we stop from the everyday hassles of life and just relax, look and listen. We will see a whole new world from a different perspective. As an example I have worked, slaved and ran myself into the ground, and for what. Still don't know, obviously to extend someone elses happiness, not mine. Until I relized that I was the cause of most of my problems. Therefore, it was time to look at this world, how I fit into it and my goals.
Upon careful planning and extensive thinking, the Wisdom came to me... Step back and just listen, sure sounds easy, ask family or friends whens the last time you did that. Thought so, taking the time to listen can be very hard indeed. Normally we are thinking so fast that we don't actually hear what someone is saying. Try an experiment on someone that you know that doesn't listen, as you are talking to them throw in some made up words and see if they catch them, or add a phrase in your dialog that would upset someone, if they catch it, tell them you was just checking to see if they were listening... It will suprise you how many people are so self absorbed they really aren't hearing you.....
So the goal is to better yourself and teach others at the same time. Look, Listen, Learn, its not so hard once you try it. When I was younger and had time I would spend hours with my telescope looking into the heavens, enjoying the vastness of nature with its sounds, sights and rythyms. Then I lost this innocence to the world we live in, hating the realm for what it was, soul stealers. Then last year, with my kids by my side, I found this innocence again, oh how wonderful it is to enjoy the simple things once again. Laying on the grass and gazing at the stars, finding a bug and marvelling at its many unique abilities, or even a soap bubble floating on the evening breeze. See the magic is still here, it hasn't abandoned us, we have forgotten it. Living for your kids will bring magic, wonders, and the fountain of youth all in one bag. So again stop, look and listen... |
