My reasons for being feminist are not to dominate men or demand that I be seen as better than they. I do not hate men nor do I pray for their demise. No!
I am a feminist because I believe I am deserving of equality in this world professionally and personally. I am a feminist because I hate double standards. I am a feminist because women are treated like second class citizens. I am a feminist because a woman should be free to do as she wishes with her body. Men can not understand this; they cannot bare a child. I am a feminist because too many times I have seen women pregnant and the father nowhere to be found. If a man can use his choice to run from his responisbilities a woman should be able to chose not to raise a child alone in an unforgiving world. That is why I am a feminist.
Women create this world every day by bringing in new lives every second. We, as women, have nurtured the world for the most part. We deserve some respect and equality dammit!=) |
