Summary: Young Chihero and her family miss the turn into their new home and her father takes a 'detour' to an abandoned shrine. On the other side they find a hoard of food and all but Chihero starts eating like a pig. As darkness falls, a strange boy urges Chihiro to get across the river by sunset. When she returns to her parents, however, she finds that they have been turned into pigs. Trapped in a strange world full of spirits, her only hope of getting home and restoring her parents is to follow Haku's (the strange boy) instructions and work in a bathhouse for the spirits under the name 'Sen'. However, few things are as they seem in this fantasy world and, as rumors about her new friend Haku begin to fly and a 'No-Face' monster wanders into the bathhouse rescuing her parents and herself gets far more complicated.(The ending is a surprise so I can't spoil it!)
