TERM 1 - week seven.  post ball analysis.

well now it's all over.  all that heavy planning and all those fights, scandals, tears shed over what is in the end one evening and really shouldn't be such a big deal . yes, i am talking about the ball, which (be thankful)  is now behind us.

ok so it was not that bad.  with no expectations the ball well, exceeded them.  it was ok.

first there was the pre ball chez jess.  anne's date chris got a fantastic public reception, and while rhys seemed nice he wasn't exaclty as social as i had previously imagined. tho then again jenny had warned me he would be shy .  he seemed really nice and i really regret not having got to know him thru the night, like how i got to know chris.  hopefully jen will invite him to her movie night which would give me a better opportunity to  do so.  jenny and rhys did really look great together tho, and he is so nice to her. it was so clear they were both having a great time which is what really matters.
everyone was soo beautiful tho, but more on that later.

next came the ride in our 1929 vintage limo - always fun.  frantically writing speech to say at ball, thanks for the help chris. passed three kfcs on way. hehe anne, as i write this i think our your white socks website. you all should go there. anyway... that was good but the place where we went in king's park was stupid in its building construction thing blocking the view and also its light!! last year it was dark so more effective.

then the ball. hmmm, it was as it was. lots of food, dancing, speeches and photos, yeah.  my highilghts were:
* taking three dessert helpings with rachel
* having a private under table party with harriet and russell
* mine and thom's photos
* everyone obsessively talking re: how anne had finally "chosen well"
*  hearing jesse's speech
* having henry shout out sexy during my speech. always nice - ;P
* seeing everyone dressed up
* finding out the award winners before everyone else
* standing up to ms noacke (only to be shouted at)

yeah, that basically sums up my eveing highlights.  oh and thanks for all of those 'fake date' moments russell - you are a darling. and no thanks to ben who teased me for the WHOLE EVENING for sayiong "thanks darling" to luke walker. i mean - hello???!!!

nicest corsage: odd criteria. prolly alex who made it herself.

ok, so after the ball came - the after ball!!!
that was my highlight  - 'it was an adventure' as chris was a(m)ptly put it.  we started with the bitchy ride home with sasha's mum and commetns of "she cleaned up quite nicely" and "she looked quite feminine for a change" prevailed. then we ot to lauren's got changed, and lauren gave anne a lovely 'bag', then there was the car drive from there to millie's with SIX PEOPLE in the back seat. sharni on my la, anne on chris' and lauren of jeff's with sasha comfortably in the front. millie's was ok, i was justy beginning to enjoy the atmosphere when we had to get up n go to jo's. or at leats to the frotn lawn to wait for ouyr never comig maxi taxi.  what i enjpoyed most at millie's was katrina saying, "magda, magda i have the BEST line to say to chris... do you speak french? if so french kiss anne!!" and she seriously thought this line was ingeniously clever. hmmm... hunni one too many already? don't worry, at least we were all like that by then.

so then the taxis came and sasha, lauren n i were seperated from anne and chris s o by the time they got to jo's te door was locked n 'only people with tick'ets' could get in.'  so like some communist or nazi regime with hung over the fence tlaking to anne and chris and rachel n stuff, on the Other Side.  torn families, broken friendship, all by a brown picket fence. highlight's from that party were rachel's antics and the crazy toliet.

next we all walked  down to macca's, which was well extremely kag. the poor worker at 4 am expecting NO ONE get like 70 mt lawlians coming in all at once. it was amusing to say the least .

then we began the walk back to lauren's thru an EMPTY city - haha, quite funny, takin photos on empty roads withsudden yelps og 'aargh, the cops are coiming!' from chris.  it was a funny eveing.  then it was in a taxi and home again, to be asleep just after 6am and wake up two hours later. sigh. it was rather fun, now looking back i must admit i had a pretty good, and a pretty damn excitign night! ;)

luv you all,
magda
