Barangay
Sta. Lucia was established in 1892. It was founded by cabesang Luis Gomez
and his wife who were the owners of the land. Because of failures in their
farm crops, they were forced to sell the land. it was sold to Capitan
Pulino Gueco who Donated a site for the chapel and had it costructed.
During
the Spanish Regime, the barrio was made as the hiding place of the people
from the town. Many students who hid in this barrio used to read the books
of Dr. Jose Rizal which were prohibited by the spaniards.
