STA. CRUZ

Formerly, this barrio was named "Alasas" due to many "alasas" trees that covered both sides of a small stream running across the barrio. These alasas trees were nice hidding place for the Spaniards. It wasnot long though when they discovered "alasas" leaves injured their skin.

Sta. Cruz was established in the year 1890. The original founders of the barrio were Don Pablo Luciano, Jacinto Catap, Alberto Maniago, Domingo David, and Estanislao Dayrit.
