In
the year 1863, Capitan Pablo Luciano, assisted by the Cortez and Suing
families, undertook the leadership and responsibility in the transfer
of the town of San Bartholome to the barrio of San Pedro which then belonged
to Cristobal Lacson and to
the Trinidad Family. Because the people of San Pedro have been found to
possess high quality of respectfulness, the barrio was always referred
to as"San Pedro de Magalang which means San Pedro of the respectful.
About the year 1868, due to the enormous increase of the population of
the community, new barrios were organized. It is believed that this barrio
are now what comprise San Nicolas and Sta. Cruz.

PEDRO II
San
Pedro II was the first barrio in Magalang through separation from the
mother barrio. Itwas in 1960 under the leadership of the late Mayor Benedicto
T. Dayrit that the barrio people initiated the move to separate from the
mother barrio now San Pedro I. Upon the official approval, Mr. Gregorio
Malonzo was installed as the first barrio Lieutenant or referred to now
as Barangay Captain
