Barangay Escaler was once called "Malatumbaga"
from the trees that thrived in the place.
In 1968, a Municipal resolution was passed
requiring the Barangay to be registered as Barangay Escaler so named after
the Gonzales and Escaler Families who owned a large portion of the land.
In 1969, said resoluion was approved and
the barangay was since called Escaler.
