SONNET 4 - EZRA STANDISH

He sits at the table playing poker
Dealing to each player their poker hand.
"Gentlemen, the wild card is the joker;
I don't tolerate cheating, understand?"
He spells out the rules, they all must abide
They shouldn't cross this ingenious gambler,
Lest they be kicked out and onto their hides
By this person who is not a rambler.
Indeed, his vocabulary is large,
His words are known to confound and amaze.
He is known as the General, not the Sarge.
At him the BrigaDears longingly gaze.
           From the small derringer he does brandish
           You will know that he is Ezra Standish!
