Spontaneously, you shove the two bags at Ezra.  "Take them."  Ezra shakes his head and backs away, but you step toward him, your arms still extended in front of you.  "I want you to take them.  Take them and put them back in the bank."

A confused look washes over Ezra's face.  "Do it!" you exclaim.  More softly, you say, "Before I realize it's a mistake."

Ezra takes the bags and stands silent for a moment, just staring at you.  He sets the bags on the ground and steps toward you.  He pulls you to him and kisses you firmly.  Instinctively, you wrap your arms around Ezra's neck and return his kiss.

You pull away and ask, "What was that for?"

"For being honest," Ezra replies.

"Goodbye, Ezra," you say.

"Take care."  Ezra bends over and picks up the bags.  You watch him carry the money back into the bank, which you didn't lock.  Before Ezra comes out of the bank, you mount your horse.  You kick the animal into a gallop and ride out of Four Corners, knowing you'll never return to this town again, but you'll remember the experience forever.
