Each of the five LPRA (Levittown Public Recreation Association) pools inlcuded a wading pool for little ones in addition to the full sized pool, a playground, a Little League Ball Field, and a basketball court.

The Indian Creek Pool had the added feature of a soda fountain/candy store, called Frosty Chief, just yards away. Although privately owned, the Frosty Chief was as much a part of the Indian Creek Pool as the other features. In our teenage years, Frosty Chief was a popular hangout, with pool tables and pinball machines.

There was a snack bar adjacent to the pool, just outside the fence. I have vivid memories of my childhood summers spent at the pool, including buying the grape flavored Squeegees at the snack bar, and the Black Cow candybars that almost pulled your teeth out.

The picture at left was taken by my father, Steve Hollenczer, from outside the fence as I stood beside him. While my older sister was having fun inside the pool gates, I hadn't yet reached my 10th birthday, so could not enter the pool area without an adult. I guess my Dad didn't want his camera to get wet!

For those of us not fortunate enough to have the "grown up" LPRA pool tags (over 10 years old), the backyard pool, or in our family's case, patio pool, had to suffice.
