| STEVENS COUNTY HUMAN SERVICES 400 Colorado Ave Morris, MN 56267 320-589-7400 Individual and Family Based Counseling -Provides a number of counseling options for individual and family needs. Assists all populations in connecting with an appropriate counseling resource. Family based counseling is intensive family therapy or counseling for the family system provided primarily in the home for a limited period of time for the purpose of family preservation. Residential Treatment for Children and Adolescents -Residential treatment is for those children and adolescents who have severe mental health issues that cannot be addressed in the local community. Residential treatment facilities may be used in several situations. When counseling has failed to resolve mental health problems for a child or adolescent, a more intensive therapy may be pursued, which would be in a residential treatment unit. Clinical depression and suicidal ideation would be examples of the above. Another residential option would be a group home. Group homes are used more for behavior modification than for mental health issues. Group homes are primarily used for adolescents that may have problems with deliquency, chronic truancy or runaways, sexual offenders, or out of control behavioral problems. Other preventative services are attempted to divert placement whenever possible. The goal is to stabilize the mental health issues and help them make the transition back into the home or community as soon as possible. Respite Care Children's Services -Short term care provided to individuals whose parents have become overwhelmed as caregivers because of their own circumstances or because of the special needs of their children... Minnesotacare -MinnesoataCare is a state health insurance program, administered by the Minnesota Department of Human Services. MinnesotaCare is for Minnesota residents who don't have access to other insurance and are not eligible for Medical Assistance. Children pay nothing when they receive health care... The Life Center can provide male and female counselors for children, adolescents, and adults...
