I let out a soft sigh, the wind playing in my long, soft hair. I stared into those icy blue eyes, cold and lifeless. The terrible twins stood together, horrible smirks touching the corners of their lips.
"Well, what have we got here?" the male cyborg asked, crossing his arms tightly over his lean chest. "A little girl, with a tail."
I tried desperately not to let my fear show, knowing it would mean my own gruesome death. Better to let them toy with me a bit, at least I might have a chance of finding that elusive opening for escape.
"Will you hurry this up, Juunana? This is getting boring." The blonde, beautiful female tapped her foot impatiently off the concrete street.
"So I can sit around while you go shopping, ne?" her brother retorted bitterly. With a wave of his pale, elegant hand, he dismissed her. His eyes glimmered slightly as they turned back on me and he took the first of his slow measured steps.
I backed away, keeping perfect time with him. It was almost as if we were dancing, both of us unconcious of the shifts and cracks beneath our feet. My heart shuddered to a stop as my back hit the ruined brick wall of what may have once been a warehouse, a keen reminder of the destruction that the cyborgs were capable of. He didn't pause, though; he maintained his calm pace toward me. Smiling terribly, the artificial killer's face was scant centimeters from mine, the faint smell of what had once been life about him was intoxicating. Everything about him was lovely, his long onyx hair, the deep sultry voice and his young muscular frame. I could almost lag at myself for finding such a monster beautiful.
I cringed as his chill hand swept the hair back from my face and came to rest gently on my cheek. "Do you have a name, little one?" he crooned. Swallowing down the bile that had been rising in the back of my throat, I spat at him in reply. He didn't display any physical emotion, only wiped my saliva from his creamy white skin.
"Well, little one, that was rude. I suppose that you do have a death wish."
Blue ki ignited in the hand he had used to wipe his face, lifted high to blast me to all hell. Juunana-Gou leaned forward, briefly teasing my lips with his, the cool sensation sending a shiver down my spine. "Good bye, little one," he whispered.
A sword tore through the cyborg's chest just as he was about to release the blast. The terrible man fell into a heap at my feet, a young man standing casually behind the body. His smile was warm behind a veil of lavender hair.
"You all right?" the stranger asked, offering me a hand which I hesitantly accepted.
I could only nod to the affirmative to his continued questioning, I had lost myself in those kind sapphire eyes.
