Kat's Perfect Day

By EntreriRose

The day started out like any other, our tall heroine dragging herself out of bed at five in the morning. She went through the usual routine, a quick shower, getting dressed and a check of her email as she waited for her long, healthy hair to dry. Even the bus ride was typical, Kat sitting in quiet contemplation until Jaeme, who was usually cramming down the last of her breakfast, joined her.

But the monotony ended when they reached the doors of the school. Markel had been waiting for them, with a rather sly grin splayed across his face.

"Huh?" both girls asked in unison.

"Road trip!" he exclaimed. Again, the two friends simply stared at him.

Then, a shiny red convertible drove up to the three teenagers, and behind the wheel was a person Kat had only dreamed of meeting. His hair was shoulder length, tied loosely at the nape of his and was a soft lavender color. Bright, quiet blue eyes glittered at her.

"Trunks?" Kat hit the concrete sidewalk hard, having fainted.

The wind blew her hair back when she finally awoke, watching the countryside roll by.

"Are you ok?"

Kat turned, blushing fiercely when she saw her hero paying her more attention when he should have been focused on the road. Grinning, she imagined how much his eyes reminded her of the clear sky above them.

The rest of the day was uneventful, they would all sing along to the radio once in a while, but otherwise the only conversation was when Jaeme would whisper a teasing remark into Kat's ear.

Night fell, the quartet deciding to sleep under the stars. Jaeme and Markel had already fallen asleep, lost in whatever dreams ran through their minds. Kat, however, couldn't sleep. The heavens were to lovely and she felt compelled to watch the celestial show until dawn.

"You know what," a quiet voice said beside her.

"Yeah?" she didn't need to look over; she knew Trunks' voice all too well.

"You were really cute when you fainted," he went on shyly. "But right now, you're not just cute. You're beautiful; the way the stars are reflected in your eyes . . . I . . ."

Kat turned onto her side to look at the purple-haired hunk of a teenage boy, driven speechless.

Trunks blushed, looking down to the grass. "Umm . . . I mean . . . umm . . ." he stuttered for a moment, then looked back up into her eyes. "Can I kiss you, Kat-chan?"

It took a long moment for her to even be able to nod.

He was so gentle, so timid, his soft lips barely brushing with hers. The scant touch sent electric impulses shooting through both their bodies nonetheless. The innocent kiss end shortly after it began, Kat nestling her head against Trunks' muscular chest and slowly drifting off into a contented sleep.
